Whatz everybody got on there motor?

Iam fancying some new rims, 17"s.
Seen a nice set of white 100+ that would set my car off a treat.

Scotty I saw from your site that you fitted 17s not long after you got the car, I take you didnt have roll the arches did ya ?

What profile tyres would I need for a set of 17s ?

Ovv, Im going for a set of 17s in the next few months.

Go for a 35, 38 or 40 offset, cant remember which one is the correct one. and 205 40 17 tyres.

Dont think the car will have any buffing problems if you go for what ive said above. But I think it also depends on how low your car is.

With a 40mm drop you can fit 7x17's with 205/40/17 tyres without any mods other than flattening some lumps in the plastic arch liners. 35mm offset I think is fine but 38mm is supposed to be the right offset.

17's went on mine with absolutely no modding, and the wheels don't catch even being lowered 35mm (the car not the wheels sorry!)
I've got 35mm offset 'cos the stupid monkey at the mail order place sent them instead of 38mm, but it doesn't seem to make any noticeable difference.
I was thinking of getting mine resprayed white, but not sure about the cleaning aspect.

Scotty,

White is great, really sets my car off due to having both the red and the yellow.

Cleaning aint really a problem, usually I just take it through the carwash, but with your mods and the mods Iam away to get I dont think its a good idea.

My local carwash, Imo - you know the large drive thru ones, they do a wheel wash service, £2.50 per wheel, you need to leave the car for about an hour or so. They make up some heavy duty cleaner stuff, works a treat. Even gets rid of the heavy staines that have like turned to yellow.

Wasnt sure at 1st cos I though the cleaner might damage the paintwork, but they made a class job.

hmm, might be tempted then.

Have you still got the old grill off your cordy? - if so would you want to get rid of it? - i'm working on some mods for mine but need a second while its being done (and in case I fluff it!) and yours happens to be the same colour!

Sorry Matey,

I will be keeping mine, I cut out the plastic and the SEAT badge when I meshed it.
It will be going straight into the shed when I fit the new headlights.. Good job I kept the SEAT badge though, need it for the centre piece for the twin headlights.

Roly, is that a full twin headlight kit or just the grill that you have available?

roly

standard grille £10.

twin headlamps £30.

im not sure if the twin headlamps still work but it is a full kit.

(both came of a 96 beeza) but will fit beeza/cordy with early type wings
