According to some reports today, Volkswagen have poached SEAT's design director Luc Donkerwolke. He will take up a position as No2 at VAG to Walter D'Silva, himself an ex head of design for SEAT.

Donkerwolke's best achievements for SEAT has to be the current Ibiza, and prototypes like the IBE and IBX he wasn't really able to express himself with the Exeo or Alhambra.

Although his final swan song for SEAT is likely to be the next Leon which is fast approaching its reveal.

Apparently SEAT have lined up Donkerwolke's replacement, he will be Alejandro Mesonero from Renault, apparently his latest work was the Laguna Coupe.

I suspect something more concrete will come tomorrow with the Barcelona motor show.

Out of interest who designed the mk1 leon?

I believe its a Giugiaro design, but I'm not 100%.

Walter D'Silva joined the company as head of design in 1999, post the Mk1 design, but he could well of had a hand on the Cupra R as that previewed around 2001-2002
