View Full Version : Head unit in a Cupra
Hi People,
Would just like to say hi, im new to this and pick up my cupra next week. As always im going to ask my first silly question that has probably been asked like a thousand times before!
Can i put a 'normal' alphine head unit into the ibiza - i premuse i have to buy a adapter plate or something.
Cheers Guys.
No head unit adapter I'm afraid!!! You have couple of choices though, you can put a head unit in the glove box or in the shelf under the steering wheel...Just akes a bit of time and patience as you will need to re wire the original head unit cabling to the new head unit...

Oh nooooooooo! Not sure im capable of moving it somewhere else

Hi There
I went for the under the steering wheel method, works well as i had a custom unit bulit for me by a company called 'Unique Carsounds' in Lightwater, they did a well pukka job.
Plus cause under the steering wheel, when you take the face off the head unit no one know what you have in there and look like you have the standard head unit.

Ok, ive seen loads of ibiza with the head unit in the normal place. Have people cut the whole themselves or sent it to spain and paid the £150

Alright mate,
I was just wondering if you could help. I want to install my new headunit, but how did you wire it up? Could you give me some step by step instruction to do so.
This would be a major help - I need some loud sounds.
Cheers
