Hey John, been thinking of this upgrade myself. You mind if I ask how much it's costing you?

Hi Meeko
The price for the above on the Ibiza is 175.00+vat for the fully finctional cruise control and 595.00+vat for the two stage program ( i.e.stock and 95 performance) + additional features from 69.00each.
Hope this helps!
John- look forward to seeing you on friday.
regards
Thanks for the pricing info Mark, most appreciated.
Seriously considering the upgrade but there are a few things that worry me ;
i) with the increased power and torque, components like the clutch etc are going to be under more stress and, obviosuly, their life span will be shortened - Any ideas what sort of difference were looking at?
ii) Is it advisable to uprate suspension at the same time? There is little enough grip in the Beeza in unchipped form so i'm worried it'll be undriveable with the chip if suspension is left standard (i can't afford chip + suspension at the moment).
iii) erm, i thought i had another one but can't remember it now. :D
Anyways, any info is much appreciated.
Cheers,
Meeko
Hi Mark,
I shall be paying you a visit either the end of this month or next month (probably this month :) )
I'm after the above package with PSS9's fitted as well. We have already spoken over email, so I know all the details, but can you confirm a few things.
a) Are you considering a warranty option, to compliment the VAG 3yr Warranty?
b) Can you change the program whilst the car is running/moving. Also, once the program is set, I guess all the engine lights go off? i.e. you cannot tell a modified program is running.
c) Would you reccomend the Sprintline kit rather than the PSS9 option.

Hope you don't mind me chiming in on your posting here.
I have run the APR in my ibiza directly comparing it to my Oettinger. The APR is a much smooth linear power delivery and the overboost surge in torque experienced on my Oettinger ecu was eliminated on the APR ecu. APR is a less stressfull upgrade I think IMHO. It delivers the figures they claim, even on "my car", more torque, more of a power band, more power, comes in earlier and lasts longer. It is impressive compared to what I have at the moment. They drive very differently. APR drives almost like a non-turbo car, as there is no rush of power with a bang that I get currently (rightly or wrongly), but a smooth progression of torque.
As for clutch, I think it will depend a lot on how many racing starts you do off the line :D Clamping pressures from the stock clutch seem adequate with no slip.
As for suspension, I would say this is strongly advisable if you intend to use your new found power on cross country B road sprints.. I was not a fan of the stock suspension, let alone when I had my chipped Ibiza. Ewwww. Accident waiting to happen.
You don't have to go the PSS9 route I believe, with their being a few alternatives which work well on other VAG cars for example. Golf MK2's can run well on Bilstein Sprintline or Koni/Eibach, so I see no reason why these mods would'nt transfer over to the 20VT Ibizas. When Eibach eventually make the 20VT anti roll bars they will nicely add to the chassis roll stiffness, whilst maintaining some level of comfort.
And DON'T FORGET TO DO THE BRAKES!

You can change the programs whilst moving, altho "it is not advisable" as it sets the cruise control.
Security lock out can de done on the move, but you have to be at a standstill with engine off to remove lockout, and to access the TBA.
As for suspension i am lookin into some Koni's at the mo.

Saul, just a reminder that TBA (throttle body alignment) should only be done on a cold engine and also should not be carried out too frequently as the ECU will take anywhere from 2-20 miles to re-adapt. I would understand if you missed this part in the bible (EMCS Instructions) as it is a tad long.
