View Full Version : N249 & SAI resistor plugs
Hi
Did you guys produce resistor plugs for after the removal of the SAI and N249 for the 1.8 20v t engine. Specifically the mk4 Ibiza cupra in my case.
If so what price would they be delivered.
Thanks in advance,
Regards,
Adam
Adam,
depends on what female connector you have. We have a male unit that plugs right into the harness professional heat shrunk and such.
Send me an email with which connector you are using (usually same format as Bosch EV14 ) and i will take care of it for you.
Really appreciate the quick response however a member off here has some of the ones you created and is going to sell them onto me, he saw my post and got in contact with me.
Again thanks for the speedy response
Adam
Hi guys! Been reading about this N249 and SAI and have no idea what they are. I have a 2004 LCR... can i apply these and what are the pros / cons? Cheers!

Have you deleted your secondary air as yet?
Well to be honest haven't deleted anything yet, and not sure what secondary air is referring to! I'm quite new on this :)
i did some research on how to remove the SAI and found it quite interesting, however what i cannot find is exactly what effect will the removal of the SAI, N249 and N112 have on the performance of the car... Maybe can someone who did it tell me? Thanks!!

lets start from the top
what modifications do you have right now?
Nothing... Car is completely standard apart from a SMF, Stage 3 Clutch and Pressure plate. It's a Leon Cupra R '04... BAM engine.

Ok well one of the major reasons SAI is deleted is to clean up the "gunk" that goes into your engine.
Is your car chipped at all? DO you know what a catch can is?
Oh i c it's to 'clean' up a bit the area :) As far as i know it is standard as i imported mine from the UK and never met the owner... as for a catch can i'm afraid i have no idea....
A catch can catches oil and/or oil vapor in your car and keeps it from going back into your engine to be burnt or build up as sludge. Cleaner engine = better performance = happy you.
Aha and how do i do that? Like where does it fit? Thanks :)
Back on topic do you do the resistors for the N249 and SAI for the LCR's?
I've run my LCR for 18 months without the N249 connected. There's a fault code but no EML and no detrimental effects. Although I wouldn't say no to a resistor for it to clear the code completely and keep things tidy (depending on price).
I didn't think LCR 225's had a SAI?
Audi TT 225 do? Cant your tuner delete the code?
Do they? I'm pretty sure I've read on here that the LCR's don't have them, I've not found it whilst working on the car (where is it normally situated? I've fitted a Forge FMIC and didn't come across when working on all the pipework?)
I delete the code through my Liquid Gauge when I can be bothered. It doesn't affect the running of the car or bring up any lights, its just me being picky knowing it's there as it returns every so often, a resistor would stop it logging the fault altogether.
Murdered LCR

Lcr does not have an sai , all you need is a 330ohm 10w resistor no more fault code or lights
Thought as much.
a 330 ohm, 10w. Cheers bud
Just done a quick search on google for the 330 ohm, 10w, and it's mentioning SAI Pump instead of N249, is it the same resistor for both?
Quick Edit. Yes, yes it is. Ching!
