It's good to have something nice to say about car dealerships, I think you should all know that I have had a pretty good level of service from Great Covert, Southampton. Having suffered the dreaded leaky car syndrome, and on their second attempt, they have fixed it (it was an all-four-door jobby too).
Importantly, they have behaved professionally and with due courtesy, and dried the carpets for me too.
I recommend them (although they always seem to be quite busy - which is another indicator of their good service)

Thats good to see mate well done to them, Southampton is a little bit far away for me lol ;)

they do have people travel down from London to have their cars seen to, it's only about a 45 min - 1 hr drive from south London, and about 3 hrs from central London!
There must be many more good Seat dealers out there, I wish people were as quick to compliment as they are to slag off!
As the marketing adage goes, with good service you tell 5 people, with bad service you tell 10!
(also used on "The Office" this week - what a fantastic programme)

I going to give them a call I think, not often you see compliments on here for dealers. Amythest excepted,,,,because they are exceptional
I actually think my next stop will be Canterbury to see Roly and co as recommended by King John the Burton ;)
See ya!

Only pisser I have against GC is that they seem to be a bit mod unfriendly:( I was going to get AMD or amethist to do a cruise control kit install but GC are not happy about that as they say it will screw my whole warrenty:( same with a stereo upgrade
I think alot has to do with the age of the parts service guys though??? Some dont like these whippersnappers addin bits to there cars.... lol :D

Good Points.
1. Freindly
2. Trusting
3. Knowledgable
4. Getting car seen for initial inspection of problem
Bad Points.
1. Long lead times for getting car seen for rectification of problem or service
2. Not Mod freindly
3. Lack of courtesy cars

Dormouse,
"lack of courtesy cars" - I assume you mean not enough? I am pretty sure they do have them although you have to book weeks in advance. I live about a 5/10 min drive away and also work mostly from home so they give me lifts too and fro.
I also have no mods, so no problem, and they didn't seem to mind that the car was an import, although rather mysteriously they have said that the 3 yr warranty I have through Virgin Cars might not be honoured! Strange that one.
The fix on my 4-door leak problem is still holding - bone dry and not a drop of water on any of the sills.

grr they wont let me get cruise control fitted:( i wasn't aware of the courtesy car problem I hope I dont have any trouble with mine as I think they may be without a demo car if I do. If I haev problems with a 15k car I am entitled to something to drive around in.....:(
for instance alfa renault vauxhall etc etc in my experience get you a car from a hire company if they run out and its an emergency fair enuff if you book you car in for a service at short notice and you aint got a car.

Check out the car import mail group. Lots of people having problems with the Virgin warranty, regardless of manufacture

Dormouse,
Nursling, not far from the Horn's Inn pub (if you know the area at all). It's quite nice here, house prices have gone bonkers though (lucky we bought 4 years ago - looking at 100% rise in value - gulp).
:D
What's the dealer in Salisbury like then (and where is it?)
Cheers

Thought that was more Lordshill myself.
Anywhere near Horns Drove or Bakers Drove?

Just off Nursling street, opposite Horn's Drove, but not far from Lordshill.
The dealer in Sailsbury is Pinchbeck, the same people as Andover. Only been to Andover branch and seem OK, although they dont seem to like imports:p
I finally going to get my arse into gear tomorrow re booking a service, so if any dealer on my way to work cant sort out a courtsey car (3 dealers) then GC or Amethyst will be the choosen ones!

If you could call that shack a garage yeah!
It's now a 4*4 shop, lots of old landrovers etc.
That's where I am.
