Hi Guys,
I'm new to the board... First of all shut up stu or whatever you call yourself on here.
Second... I am thinking about buying a 1997 Seat Ibiza Gti a very nice motor but the only thing thats concerning me is the high millage of 105k but has a full Seat service history.
My question is in your opinion is there still plenty of life in the engine?
Or is it on its last wheels?
Ta very much.
How much is it?
What spec, 16v or 8V
R reg?
How much you planning on spending?
PS whos stu?

i've always had the opinion if the cars been looked after well it doesnt matter on the millage!!!!
Just an example - a car thats done 50.000 miles but has been thwapped to the high heavens + never serviced etc etc will be a far worse buy than that which has done 100,000 miles n been drove carefully + serviced regular!!!
Just to make matters a wee bit more confusing for you! FSH in my eyes is B@LL@CKS as all it takes is for some1 to know some1 who works in a garage to get the log book stamped!!!
take it for a spin, get the bonnett up listen to the engine look under the car etc etc and let your self make ur mind up!!!
Mileage aint really that important for the engine as long as it's been looked after.
We've just got rid of a Bravo 16v with 110k on the clock. When I bought it 4 years ago it had about 20k on it and it still sounds as sweet today as it did then.
What you have to look out for is all the other bits! The Bravo was traded in because it neded new brakes, fuel and brake lines (as they were corroded), possibly a new clutch, plus other little bits. Shame really as the engine was still mint!
As said, get under the car and have a good look about.
