Brendy,

Do they look like the same as the 1.6 Cordoba pads in the book ?

You know what I mean ? like the SE or the SXE....

Cos all the books in the local parts shops just say Cordoba 1.6..!

thanks.

im 99.9999% pos that all 1.6 cordies are the same mate, the haynes manual didnt differentiae between the two different engines, so id say they are the same. always go by haynes, or flapper !!

I'll tell you why I'm worried....

The pads I have just bought have SEAT corolla written on them !!

I'm gonna take the wheels off tomorrow and check they are correct.

So fed up with people not knowing what my bloody car is !!

Every ones got a astra or a escort...boring.

Was thinking of a Leon...1.6 16v.....Whats the lastest are they ok ?

There are two sets of pads depending on disc size, info and prices follow.

239mm X 12mm = 1h0698151a £25.63 inc vat
239mm X 20mm = 1h0698151b £35.25 inc vat

Hope this helps in the absence of Flapper

Just an update really......

Thanks for the info.

Got the pads...For anyone with a 1.6 SX the front pads are the same as on the 2.0 ltr.

Girling Calipers.....That right ? Anyway it's the second caliper type in the haynes manual.

Got to put em on now....:)

that cant be right, 2.0 16v has bigger discs and the pads fill them, if the cordy 1.6 had the same sized pads the disks wiuld be too small.. and the disks on the 16v are larger standard too.

OK...The Pads fit the 2.0 ltr Cordoba....maybe not the 2.0 SX ??

I assume all 2.0 ltrs brakes are the same ??

Brendy, if you look in the haynes manual section 9 ... The second type of Caliper 'Girling'..Are they yours ?

The manual doesn't really tell you what is going to be on your car...I just had to remove and look.

The First ones I got for the 1.6 were massive banana shaped things...The new ones are smaller with a round eye on the top and a metal spring bar on the top...sound the same ?

It's getting to me that it's hard for me to find things straight in local shops. As I said My local dealer is so far away....Price is not really into it but hassle is...

All the dealers have closed...I'm ready to buy a new car.And I'm going to have to go for another make as when servicing or warrenty work is carried out it's a major day out for the family !

I have found SEAT good....and the cars really haven't got the good name they should have ...But they aint gonna get it either if they dont open more dealerships down my way.

God I'm a moaner aint I ..... ? :D

As I said in last postings I was thinking of LEON SE....but peugeot 307 is looking interesting...But then I might just stay with what I have cos they aint offering me much part ex...

And It's a terrific car, I'm just worried now it's out of warrenty.

What do you rekon ??

girling and hole with the spring sounds about right, there was an older version of the cordoba and it the gti 4 door model, cant remember of the top of my head whether it was 1.8 or 2.0 , 8v or 16v, bit useless at older model specs to be honest.
also mate, hold onto the cordy cause we're a rare breed what with only two doors etc!! think of all that lovely hidden boot space too!! 307 wouldnt come close i dont think, anyroad im biased :) , seeing as your car is out of warranty now/soon, why take it to seat??? local garages can service them too !!!! save you a packet in petrol and charges, and they will be able to get your parts cheaper from euro suppliers!!

The Cordoba GTI was a 4 door, with 2.0 8v engine. Very rare now, I almost wish I'd kept it.. In fact I know it's still up here and I f I see it for sale then I'm gonna buy her back.

They had the smaller discs, the 2.0 16v motors have 280mm front discs...

Hope that helps clear up some confusion.
