View Full Version : vague for sales
is there any chance that people can actaully state wtf they are selling on here?
in particular what car they are for, seems to loads of posts for wheels of late not really stating what car they will/would/ fit or indeed what car they are from.ok not everyone knows the offset ,but it helps if sellers can give as much info as possible
annoying for potentail buyers and the seller isn't excactly doing themselves any favours.
yes i have had a bad day.

Of course as ever I was only Joking.....
I'm not looking to buy at the moment but obviously Jase is in full 'mod' mode and he will be the one experiencing these problems...
fair point. :)
I'll see if I can setup some guidlines to adhere to..
eg:
FS: SEAT Ibiza/2001Y/1.8T £8000 [as the title]
then you list all the tat below it
Make it a rule then that all adverts are to be placed like that or removed.
job jobbed.
maybe be radical & include - no ebay links, and no 'conversation' on why people are selling up.

but what if people are selling summet like ice that will fit any car?
then they can put that in the right forsale section.....
but eg:
FS: Genesis AMP/60W/Dual output [can you tell my ICE knowledge isn't ace]
far better than ICE for sale.
or: for sale.......
I agree, except that a bit of chat afterwards isn't a problem in my eyes. Especially the typical "where are you?" or "why are you selling?" Q's which everyone will have to ask individually if they are interested. If the subject is clear enough then only the interested or nosey will bother to look anyway.
reason i mention it mark, was that some people post stuff for sale and hardly ever come back to check, which leaves some people asking questions in interest and getting bugger all fead back, not good sellling point and pisses of someone with a genuine interest.
as i've read before its free on here but other sites charge a fee,and club gti go ballistic if somone tries to sell anything on the forum.just thought that if this was brought to peoples attention then they would appreciate it a bit more and use it properly.
dummies back in now mr S. ;)

Hi M0rk,
I agree with the suggested format, but I feel that banning ebay links and conversation on why people are selling up is a bit harsh. I have seen a few threads in the For Sale section that simply link to an Ebay page and I have to say that I sometimes find them quite interesting, and if the right item comes up then I'll be interested in buying it.
Cheers
Ben
We cant be responsible for idiots.
By all means we will try to encourage informative adverts that contain all the right info, but we cant hold peoples hands and tell them what to post. If they are stupid, its not our fault.
No need to ban ebay links or conversations IMO.
OK- by conversation I mean:
'For sale - SEAT Ibiza 2000 20VT'
blah blah info
someone replies
"why are you selling it?"
"where can I get a dump valve from"
"why didn't you get it chipped by jabba"
"i see you're from outer mongolia, so am I"
not actual conversation about buying / selling - that'd be retarded to remove that.
