I have been talking to my mate ( who owns a 1500 mile TT 225BHP ), about these valves,

If we get one fitted does it affect the warranty? As a guy on the TT forums was refused warranty cover because of this part had been fitted.

Daz could you answer this, as you fit them from your dealership is it a Seat approved part?

It all depends on the individual dealer. Some dealers will screw you for the slightest modification where others are more willing to help and realise that a Foge dumpvalve if anything will help the motor!

What those ar5eh0le dealers need to realise is that if Seat weren't so tight and would do the job right in the first place the consumer wouldn't have to modify the car at all.

Therefore i am expecting the replacement Ibiza to have 500BHP, 18's, Bilstein coilovers, Ap/Brembo brakes, Full Nappa leather, Sat Nav, Full Harmon kardon/Bose/similar stereo setup, tv/games console etc etc etc http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

And all for the reasonable price of 15K!!! http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif

I bet some SEAT dealers are even willing to chip the car for you. In holland we got such dealers too. SEAT vanderVelden for example.

The owner himself stated that each Dutch dealer claims warranty at the importer. So basically the dealer will determine whether the repair will be under warranty or not. It's like topboss said!

I would recommend to call each dealed and ask them if they can install that valve for you without voiding the warranty.

to be honest i cant see how it will affect the warranty , for a start its a replacement with a part of a lot better quality and reliability http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/mad.gif

as for refusal to honour warranty , thats the dealer talking im afraid , mind you it depends on these really

A: how fussy the dealer is ??
B: wot did they refuse to cover??
C: did they have word from the manufacturer to refuse warranty .

point to make , how does a non standard valve affect say an ABS SENSOR then ???

the only way a warranty repair could be refused is if the valve failed and caused untoward damage to something else on the vehicle , ie it wasnt SEAT's fault or failure of any part from seat or its approved suppliers . anything else and the dealer is talking TOSS

ill ask a few awkward questions @ SEAT and see what they say ??
