View Full Version : moving the port
does anyone know how you actually get the connector out of its holder on the fuse box so i can then get to it without moving all my stereo out from under the dash?
i know it can be done, as the old owner did it, but me being a fiddler put it back in, now i see why he had it free from its holder, but i cant get the bugger out!
anyone know?
its an ibiza cupra 20vT btw

If you're talking about the diagnostic port, then pm deejay. He has moved his to the ashtray.

If where talking about the diagnostic socket???? (ODBII port)
yer ive relocated mine but in the end I put it into the modified centre console housing bit on my cupra. you need a male and female socket and a length of cable to do this though.

Thats a good idea about extending it with a female connector - that would probably be better.
Where did you get the female connector from?

I think www.skpang.co.uk sells all the bits you need. Rage did this to his MK4 and I'm sure that's where he got all the bits from.

My dad is a computer engineer :crash: so can get hold of the bits just need the ODBII port male end.
But looking at it in the link there is nothing inside is it just a case of connecting up the wires for it to read with VAG-COM?
