2L 8V owners

I am after some pictures of the alternator area of the 2L 8V motor - including the bracket that attaches to engine block / tensioning system / belt runs.

Very helpful thanks - is the belt approx 20mm wide and has 6 ribs ?

How is the belt tensioned ? does the alternator move to tension it or is there a seperate tensioner ?

looks like alternator pivots at top on bolt that is brown on pics.
assume adjuster is below? difficult to see
yes, belt has 6 ribs approx 20 mm

Why you need the info mate? the alternator set up on the 2.0 8v is very similar to that on my tdi and also my golfs 1.8 8v.

My golf is totally stripped down and the engine is out so if you need any further info or pics give us a shout!

Thanks to all for info - copped a good look at several engines at Dubsport at the weekend and now have the info I need.

I was asking as the alternator on my 16V comes loose sometimes and I wondered if the 8V setup would fit and may be better - dont think there is much to be gained though
