Yes you've go it on the right way, although it will work either way.
Don't expect it to make any noise, mine is silent as well.

It fits like the Oe one did...
boost in the side pipe, vent frmo the bottom.
If running stock boost levels, it will be just about as quiet as the Oe one, but faster acting so a bit less laggy between gear changes.

You were'nt expecting Wooosh were you? Its a recirculating valve not an atmo one (not advised for 20VT)

Dv will fit either way round, i have tried a 006piston and am currently using a 007 diaphram. I have found the 007 diaphram to be faster acting and smoother than any other dv i have tried. My 007D is in the oe postion. But i have tried it both ways around and noticed no diff.

If u fancy a little dv noise an induction kit would help along side a uprated dv. But dont exspect the elephant man breathing inside your engine bay. Like Bill said atmos dv dont work on 20vt's.

Really?
I tried the diaphragm one way back compared to the 006P and it felt limp... Pretty much like stock OE diaphragm one..

Since fitting the e05 turbo i have been using and oe one, i put the repaired 007d on last night and noticed an immediate improvment. Each to there own i guess.

After listening to a vid of someone else’s car running 1 bar. I noticed that mine has a distinctive high pitch squeak when dumping around 1 bar. Alto has a nice whoosh when at 0.5 bar. Is there anyway of getting the whoosh also at 1bar without is being more of a squeak??

I'm running Leo's OE bosch valve. my OE one was a bit buggard but the car runs much better and getting a nice chatter off partail throttle :D

chatter = wastegate = not venting properly..

vents properly on full throttle

The "chatter" noise you hear from cars running no dump valve, or a valve that cannot vent enough pressure on lift off is not the wastegate. It's boost rushing back out of the only other available outlet, the compressor housing and through the pipe that the air filter sits on. Compressor surge!

vents properly on full throttle
Question is does it vent properly on full boost, which might be delivered at less than full throttle... Larger compresor load on full boost... chatter sounds cool I know.(my Golf did it until I replaced the crappy sticky Bailey DV) but now its chatter free (more boring to listen to) but I feel happier for the compressor.. Big ol IHI after all... Ker-Ching $$$

I swapped the green spring for the yellow one in my 007P - running 1.4 BAR max. boost and it definately holds boost better, feels snappier too. Might try the blue one soon.
