Hi All
Could this be the end of my MK3 Ibiza 'Chill'??? i was on my way to work this morning as usual same time etc, when came round the roundabout there was a huge 'Bin Lorry' on my side of the road and it crashed straight into the front right hand side front of me and the front is now bent in, car is un - drivable, and looks nasty!!!
Strange thing is the 'air bag' didnt go off??
Lucky i have a witness who states it was not my fault so will have to sort out all the insurance etc?
is the car a write - off?? would it be better if it was??
Glad i told Insurance Company about mods done, wheels, stereo, induction kit and under car neon kit.
Could have been worse but im not hurt so thats cool.
cheers

probably find that it is a write off if the chassis leg is bent (in which case get busy unmodding as you want to keep the bits!)
did you chin the steering wheel? in that case - no need for the airbag.
sounds like the other fella's fault, but it'll come off your insurance, then they'll claim of the councils.

No lucky didnt hit the steering wheel at all, so no damage to me which if you look at the car is hard to believe, i have stripped off a lot of the mods before they took the car away, including the stereo and its moulding, the amps and subs, but wheels, neon, rear clusters, induction kit and other stuff is still on the car,
i think the guy who picked up the car thought the chassis leg mite be bent. If it is a write off would it be possible to get the wheels and neon off the garage it is at or are they lost for ever??
cheers

ouch1 thats really unlucky :( if it is a write off, do you rekon u'll be buying another ibiza? if so, what model... you gotta stick with the chill! :P

Hi Cus,
i know its just starting to sink in about if its a write off as i really liked that car and it only had a few more mods to buy and fit and then it was complete for now and would have looked really good o think.
if it is a write off and i get decent pay out with differently look for a Ibiza MK3 as i know lots of parts to get, but will try and look for a 1.6 sport or 1.8 T, in black or yellow will just have to see what happens in the next few weeks with the insurance company.
Lucly i told the insurance company abou the mods in March this year when the renewal came up and they were cool about it, so will have to want and see.

btw Neon kit destroyed!
:( i'll be one of the only people with the chill edition on this forum who are wanting to do their cars up :( i'm pretty gutted that everyone has a better car then me! :P
well anyways commiemidget, i hope you do get a good pay out, and get the car u want! if you planning on selling the mods you had, if they are usuable, then i wouldn't mind knowing ;)

thanks Cus, if i have any parts if the car is a write off will let you know.
Just have to wait and see what happens with claims now!!
Thanks for all the support and advice, thats why i hope the car is not a write off and if it is i will look at getting a new SEAT!!

Hi There Cus

cheers, you cars looks really nice! well it did look nice. i reckon the tinted rear lights would of lookd better, all black on the back.. pimp style! :P
if you mean the aluminium effect dashboard kit, then use the link below
http://www.dcp-shop.co.uk/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=5703
£89
ok.. its rather expensive, but it really is nice! you get a 5 year warranty, so if it does start to peel off, you get a replacement from the company who makes it. comes in either aluminium carbon effect or walnut. i which i went for carbon fibre, cos that would go with my wing mirrors more, but nevermind! still looks really nice :)

An Almera? Sh1t mate, it's bad enough that your car got crunched, but then to inflict a Nissan upon you... That blows.

Hi ya Commie
Sorry to hear wot happened main thing is that ure okay.
Pah lorrys think they own the road!
If its touched the chassis leg it will most likely b written off. :(
Wen i bought my beetza it wuz written off looks like the previous owner pulled out on sumone, it wuz hit hard in the drivers side, drivers chassis leg wuz pushed back 6 inches and both pushed across 4 inches.
Unlucky for the owner but lucky for me cuz i bought it real cheap and now its my pride and joy!

Hi all
heard from the insurance company and garage and looks like chassis is fine and its all cosmetic damage so looks like car will be re - pairable!! once i have it in writting and the car is back i will post up again with photos etc.
thanks for all the support over the last few weeks about the car and the crash, its not my fault so far so thats always good,so should not be claiming off my own insurance.
cheers
commiemidget.
i'm very happy for you!! i wouldn't want to be the only one on here with a modded 1.4 chill :P
so i'm guessing you wont be selling any parts now?
