I'll try to keep this short and probably fail.

Had smokey problems ever since I got my 2006 Ibiza Cupra TDi 2 and a bit months ago. I tried to do the italian tune up a few days ago and well...that made matters worse, car went into limp mode temporarily, whooshy noise through the air vents and more smoke than you could imagine.

I took the car up to Alistair Fleming Dundee and their mechanic Gavin spoke with me for about 20 mins giving me ideas for the causes, among other things. We discussed remaps and he told me immediately that there was a tuning box fitted that was a likely cause for the smoke issue, so we removed that there and then.

I left the car and it took a few days to get the diagnostics done (I guess they are really busy) but that's fine as I didn't want to drive in it's current state anyway. I was told that the problem had been narrowed down to boost pipes at the intercooler and that they'd get replaced the following day.

So today Gavin calls me to tell me he's nearly done and explained what had happened and also let me know that he thought the car had an ECU remap (yes, as well as the tuning box). So there was still a bit of smoke, but nothing extreme.

The car is now running like a dream again.

All I can do is praise the team at SEAT Dundee. The staff in the showroom are friendly and helpful and their Mechanic is an absolute star who seems to be very knowledgable and extremely helpful.

I class myself as a car noob, I know very little about fixing cars but I definetly feel that I was very lucky to have gone to SEAT Dundee and have them work on my car.

So Rachael, Arlene, the lady that took my money today (sorry I can't remember your name) and Gavin...if you ever read this..thank you!
