312mm discs
and all associated bits and pieces

first of all i had the discs re-drilled to 4x100 cant find my close up picture but you can see easily enough from the above picture

i then had 5mm milled off of the carriers, i had also been told 4mm would do so got 5mm taken off with the thought that if too much i can shim them out a touch

i also filed down the inner face of the carrier so that it all sits flush and gives a bit of extra clearance (circled in red)

i then fitted up the brakes and noticed the flexi needed modifying to join up with the brake lines, i dont have any photos of this but you will need to file down the locating lugs on the flexi as the ibiza doesnt have them, should fit up to the brake lines nicely once they have been removed!

if fitting under the standard cupra wheels you will need to fit a spacer to clear the face of the calliper, i fitted 5mm spacers and theres plenty of room!!

you should end up with this at the end (excuse the dirt!!)

and FAR better brakes even using oe pads and discs!!

hope this helps people!! think thats everything covered

a few VAG models used the 312mm setup.

Leon Cupra mk1 1.8T
Octavia mk1 vRS
Golf4 GTi 1.8T anniversary models?
Audi TT 1.8T 180/225
Audi S3 mk1

im sure there is more...

Awesome!

Any chance of some exact details on where these brakes come from?

I mean exact car model and year, would be very interested in doing this.

What was the cost breakdown!? Less than brembos?

did you have the disc balance etc who drilled them??

did you have to have any of the disc milled down???

My mate drilled the discs for me and also milled the carriers on a cnc machine. He never mentioned about them being balanced. and never had any other material removed from them

My mate bolted a 4x100 disc to the new disc which was originally 5x100 and 5x112, yeah was done on a pillar drill

Just out of interest was 5mm about right or did you need to shim the carriers in the end?

5mm has been spot on for me mate! Im still running the oe pads and discs i put on when i upgraded and the stopping power is unreal lol feels like its going to stoppie some times lol going to upgrade to ds2500s and badger 5 eliptically grooved discs when the time for new parts comes so will try and remember to update this thread with a review on that when the time comes. But on standard parts they are far far better than standard ibiza setup. And look massive lol always catch other drivers having a look at them lol

Awesome thanks for that, just bought mine so I'll be getting them machined when they turn up! No discs and pads with it so I'll use oem disks and red stuff pads as I quite like them! Thanks for the info!

One more quick question as I'm hopefully going to be fitting my brakes this week end, is it the original seat brake hoses that need filing down? or do I need hoses off the octavia brake calipers?

Also for future referance, if you dont fancy drilling you'r discs, GSF's £56 discs come with 9 holes drilled, 5 X100 and 4 X 100 which can save time and money!

You need the hoses from the octy mate if thats what theyre off of! The lugs take 5 mins to remove with a file, this is necessary for the new hoses to marry upto the brake lines. Will be pretty self explanitory once you see it. Hope the guide is clear enough for you anyway mate, youll be more than happy woth the performance!

hi mate so just to check

you.need quatto disks calipers and carriers
shave 5mm off the carriers
drill the disks to 4x100 fitting
fit them all

is that right??

Any 312mm set up will do be in s3, TT, golf, octavia etc! You need the callipers, carriers, carrier boots and brake hoses. And as you say 5mm off the carrier and re-drill to 4x100
