Hi there,

right this i really dont understand i have a ibiza mk3 tdi 110, its been realy slow since i brought it, so i cleaned out the turbo vnt out, replaced all vacum hoses, n75, egr, checked boost pipes, fuel filter andway no diffrence,

but my next job was to change the MAF sensor but i wasnt too keen on spending more money to not fix the problem, so i read on here well unplug it and it it runs the same its gone, but this is the stange bit i unplugged it and the car flys along now! so i dont understand how its better without it plugged in and obviuosly it need a new one can anyone explain this,

cheers jon

your maf is boggered , same issue with with my old mk3 ibiza 1.9tdi 90bhp, would struggle to rev past 2k rpm , basically in simple terms maf measure volume of air to calculate the correct amount of fuel to mix when it goes wrong readings are wrong ecu detects this and put its in a safe mode to not damage the engine , unplugging the maf bypassed all this so its just sucking air without measuring anything but car with run rich slightly due to not accurately calculating correct air/fuel mixture

change the maf and away you go mate simply enough to do
