Anyone got any idea how I can stop my timing belt from squeaking ?!?

Does it all the time, hot or cold.

Get a bit annoying !!

Does it just need tensioning a bit more? The cambelt (same thing?!?) was changed in September by a main stealer, is this their fault it's squeaking ?!?

Cheers

changed by a dealer? make them do it...

the part is only about £30 with a new belt at under a tenner if you need it changed again

Mark,

Yeah the Dealer changed my Cam belt at 63k I think. It's now done 73k.

Only really noticed it today when I was changing my oil. (got round to doing eventually!! ;) )

Will drop it into the dealer and see what they say.

make sure its not over tensioned

mine squeaked when i had mine done it turned out it was over tight

the reason it was changed within 10k miles of the last one was because it had lost its tension

please check and replace the tensioner we have a few VW Dealerships within our group and for the agg 2.0 8v golf there is a modified tensioner and bolt

plus if you need any parts like chrome door handles cheap mail me the req and part no's pref and i'll do cost + 10%
