Dosen't look like much light at the end of the tunnel.

Been waiting for ever it seems (Couple of months really) but it looks like it ain't going to happen :-o
Well it may in the future but no dates!

Looks like I will have to go through the chip deciding process again :thumbd:

took 18 months to make my mind up and I am really gutted.
going to have to ring up to get my deposit back....

Thats bad news mate, I was also very interested in the OneClick .. but like you said it might still happen, just depends if you can wait ....

What are your thoughts about Revo + SPS1 instead of the OneClick ?

Sorry to hear that Darren.. :(

One thing I'm sure about is you will get it chipped at some point, believe me it's worth it!!

Good luck

Thanks folks :)

I was booked in for a Jabba chip but they were not ready for LCR Chipping! when they were a bloody lorry hit the rear 1/4 & bumper. 9 months later and the car is tip top and all sorted. Here about One click and I'm in there with my deposit this time to make sure I go through with it!

So do I go back to Jabba? :D

The thing that I really liked about concept of One click was the fact that the origanal Map could be downloaded onto the ECU :worship:

nowt wrong with Revo mate! just seems a wee bit on the pricey side! I had a VGood price on the One Click which swung it for me :) I am so tight with money!

If someone could do SPP with a boost controller with the ability to switch to the original map and a tailored map like jabba/AMD then they would have my money no problem.

Steve
I tried the Revo demo. F*&k it was quick 3,4,5 & 6th. Intercooler hose kept coming off though. would like to know how much boost it was running on the demo!

Seems like you feel the same as me, I thought the price of the OneClick was not too bad (your price was a little better) and wouldn't have to think much about spending that amout, just Revo is a little too much - to get the same type of thing. I also like the idea of being able to revert back to the original code by the OneClick thingy.

Would be interested in the SPP with boost controller ...

With any of the SPS's you can turn your car back to stock. Trial code will hold around 1.35bar. The I/C and intake pipes have a habit of coming off if not tight (as they never are from the factory)
If you guy's fancy coming to see us I can show you the extent of what an SPS is capable of.

Just the cost is 499 + 149 + vat = £762 which is quite a bit difference from the £499 OneClick is suppose to be. I may pop over once I have the car and completed a few miles run in to make sure the car is happy before changing anything.

Now theres a good chance that I'm mistaken here but...

The reason why I've not gone for Revo, and was waiting for one-click is that the SPS will put your car back to stock performance but leave the Revo software on your ECU, whereas the one-click will put your original ECU software back on the ECU.

Now my understanding of the implications of this are that should the ECU code be analysed when it was chipped using the Revo code it would be clearly identifyable as a modified ECU whether running a performance map or not, whereas the one-click solution would actually place your original ecu code back - i.e. undetectable.

Given that you're paying a premium for the "stealth" of these mods over a custom map, my feeling was that the one-click solution offered a truly stealth solution, whereas the Revo option offers stealth though obfuscation (i.e. the cars performance can be set back to normal).

To me it's a pretty important point.

AFAIK Revo leaves the original code, just flashes the Revo to a spare area of the chip.

To detect Revo a dealer would need to do the following, disconnect the ECU and send it away for analysis, for analysis they would have to break the seals on the ECU unsolder the chip from the board, do a hex dump (I believe that's the correct term) and analyse what they have. Resolder chip onton board and reinstall into car. Not something a dealer can do and they would need your car for a while.

They could also get an SPS unit and put it in your car, but why would they have one?, how would they explain that to you?.

And I may be mistaken but although AmD oneclick sounds great - you can't buy it and no-one knows when you will be able to?

would the 'one click' tune / Revo tune be able to cope with the intervention of the 'rolling code' ECU??

Anyone?

Thats what sold it for me

If revo want to to sell me a remap & sps to turn it back to stock for £500 notes including VAT then I will pop in and see them and take Revo Kev up on his offer see the extent of what an SPS is capable of!

What I don't understand is though....When your ECU is flashed by the serial port...
You've got 1MB (8Mbit) of data to send over....the Serial port supports a maximum of 14.4Kbit/sec... so thats 586 seconds to flash it. (probably slightly less as not the entire 1MB of space will be used.
Anyone who has had their car revo'd knows, it takes a good 5-10 minutes for the car remapped.

How then can One Click upload your entire original rom (or the enhanced one) through the serial port in under 2 minutes like is claimed? - especially (as from reading about it), it downloads the rom which is running, saves it, then uploads the new one, and then (I assume) verifies the image transferred ok using checksums...

I can't believe the OneClick solution is going to put it exactly back to how it was before...and would imagine its much more likely to be you have your original map, and the enhanced map on the ECU, and it switches between them, much like a Revo SPS, the only potential possible difference being it is your original map which is the 'stock' map, and not a generic one for your model of car.

Of course the above is just my opinion, based upon a general sound understanding of electronics, and computers, and what I have read, so dont' take it as fact - I'm not trying to or meaning to 'diss' anyones product - just trying to maybe shed some light on something which might otherwise have been missed.

Only way I can see of doing a 'new' ECU in two minutes is by leaving the original code in place and only altering a few parameters.

This way I can see they would be open to the code being copied by someone else as there is obviously not a lot of time for an encrypted re write of the ECU in two minutes.

With such a relatively simple parameter swapping upgrade does this mean all the various operating conditions have been thought through properly...

or will it be overboost city limp mode here we come?

Maybe the launch has been delayed because of the kind of issues I've mentioned above?

Until AmD get it sorted it looks like you've got quite a wait on your hands, personally I couldn't wait based on a hope they might get there one day.
