This must be a possible conversion?
T3
FMIC
Lower Compression
Extra Injectors
Manifold (ATPturbo.com)
Downpipe (ATPturbo.com)
Exhaust
The only thing is management?? I can't find anywhere that can map it? I was wondering if it would be possible to do it with the Apexi Fuel/Air Flow Controller & Boost Gauge? Or with an MF2 and Signal Conditioner? Sigcon sends a false signal to the ECU making it think it's running standard boost, then supply it with extra fuel through the MF2...
If anyone can think of a way of doing a T3 conversion for around 350bhp, and running about 1.2Bar of boost...
Cheers
Dave

Emerald ECU and remap would solve probs
failing that FRIELING RACING could map the existing ECU no probs

David - did u get PM I sent you?

:)
I think Jabbasport would map it for you as they do it for the IHI conversion..

To be honest i woudn't bother with a T3, use a GT series instead. Remember the T3 was designed in 1982, making it over 20 years old, sure it was a good turbo, and still offers a cheap soloution, but the GT series has significantly better efficiency and a smaller package / lower friction CHRA even in non-ball bearing form.
A typical T3, and most will be thinking of the YB 2.0 cossie unit here (40 to 50 trim, 0.6 A/R compressor, 0.48 A/R turbine) is good for about the mid to high 200 bhp, any more power (and hence airflow) will require a larger trim unit.
Also watch the turbine speed on the larger trimmed wheels. You may find that you need to clip the turbine blades back to give more speed headroom

Emerald replied telling me that they cannot map a standard ECU, and their units would not be suitable for my Seat Leon road car?!? :thumbd:
Frieling Racing havn't got back to me yet!

I've got a MoTeC M8 ecu on my rally car, it's a really good unit, easy to map with loads of control strategy. the downside? look to spend upwards of £2k just for the box!
Emerald is more like £500-600, and should have enough strategy to control a road car in a basic format if mapped correctly, ie idle bypass valve control, narrow band closed loop etc. Sure you car won't meet the EU4 emissions limits any more, but it will be legal from an MOT point of view (assuming you retain a CAT of course)

TSR quoted me £1100 all in with wiring loom etc for a motec, dont know what one tho :(

You will struggle to find an after market ecu manufacturer to offer dbw options..
Motec are one of a few...
T3 is not a great performer.. and the GT25 is pretty laggy compared to IHI.

hi David, i can recommend on my friend, he make also a custom chips for self configuration turbo.
now, his from Israel but he works with a few workshop in the UK, if you want i can ask him.
hes last project was right hands drive turbo system for the UK guy's, hes a real cool guy and do a great job.
go to his site on my sig(frieling racing).
ps
he will present in GTI international, and mybe i will came with him :)
BTW, a T3 will give you around 300-320 bhp@1.6/8 bar.
and that only if you have 42 a/r, maybe with the big super 60 a/r you will get 350hp.
I'm going to install a T3 turbo a/r 42 and i should get around 300+ hp@1.6 bar
here it is
if you going to buy a new turbo, the GT28rs is realy good, and will give you 350hp @1.5 bar.(see clip)
347hp@1.5bar (http://www.frieling-racing.com/DownLoads/un_f%20racing.wmv)

Your in Israel are'nt you?
Mind if I PM you details of someone over there to check?
Let me know..
cheers

Emerald is not suitable for Turbo applications, nor is MBE really.
DTA have a reasonable unit out there now.
Motec is well known.
You could look at GEMS, but I'd suggest talking to www.angryturbo.co.uk about Autronic systems.
Bear in mind a few things:
You'll need to convert to a cable throttle.
the CANBUS system is probably going to give you a problem, especially if you have ESP. Its possible to overcome this though ( eventually ).
an MF2 unit is a huge compromise that I wouldn't even entertain.
Remember the end result will only be as good as the mapper.
