I would have thought a standard one would be a very good reference for the RR results on the day.

Dean,
How many cars do you have now and what time does it start?
cheers.
Hi Guys
It all depends on who actually turns up, I've had about 30 people say they are coming including you guys. This is too many.
But people are dropping out at the last minute as I expected, and then theres bound to be a few that don't turn up.
So my advice is get there early and you'll be ok
Hope to see some of you there

Anyone going to this from around the Reading area want to meet up and convoy as I don't have a clue where it is!! Otherwise I'll be doing the 'steering wheel in one hand and map-book in the other' thing!

Dean and the Audi boys...
Thanks for a good day at Power Engineering yesterday, it was good fun (inside the workshop and out on the road!!) and well executed. All credit to Power Engineering too for a very professional and acurate opperation.
For the Seat guys you will be glad to hear that my standard 20VT Beeza ran two dyno's - the first at 160bhp and the second at 156. Spot on then, the manuals don't lie!
Cheers.
cheers for coming guys
not a bad turnout, and enjoyed seeing some very powerful cars!
I got 248bhp and 243 lbs of toque
Not as good as i would have hoped ! but more mods to come this month

Hi Bill,
I was the only Ibiza that did a dyno run so I guess we will have to wait for another day to use that whole benchmark theory!! Another day at Power Engineering would be very interesting especially if we could get a range of chipped Seats to test against stock and then see whose chip is really worth the money! Perhaps we should ask the major players (RSD, Jabba, Superchips etc.) to put some cash towards the use of the dyno's as it will be publicising their products at the end of the day.

I thought I saw Pauls and Lee's "210" Ibizas down for a run...
What happened to them?
Another RR day is on the cards, if we can get enough interest.
We postponed one at Stealth Racing, as it was deemed too close to the Bruntingthorpe Track day.
The next one will probably be at Jabbasport on their brand new rollers in their purpose built Dyno cell.
This will be posted soon.

Lee was there but didnt run his 210 as he did a dyno run pretty recently. Dont know what happened to Paul. Would be very interested in a Seat Dyno day, think it would be a great comparison for anyone thinking of chipping a 20VT.

Umm...never been to a dyno but well interested. Will they do any fettling or do you need to book your own session?

On a dyno RR gathering there is'nt time to do any fettling, so if you wanted any tuning done it would be best to do this by booking your own session.
Depending on what car you have (20VT, 16v.. etc) would depend on how much fettling can actually be done. 20VT's are complex animals, and the ECU pretty much controls everything, so there is'nt anything to tweek.
The dyno days are typically power runs, which are kept as short as possible to prevent heat soak. We did a RR day in Jan this year, but the RR on that day caused all the modded 20VT's to heatsoak and their ECU's started to wind back into safe mode, thereby killing their potential peek power. We have all learned from this experience, and the next RR session to be arranged will be at a VAG specialist, probably Jabbasport initially.
Jabbasports RR day will be aimed at 20VT's though, chipped and standard, and will be limited to 15 cars max.
There are some dyno plots of the Power Station RR day (the abortive heatsoak one) we did on this website> http://www.badger-5.go-plus.net

Looks like a good way of checking current performance before choosing next mod.;)
