I notice that powerbulbs are now offering a free pair of philips blue vision with every order, so I thought I might take advantage and order some new dipped beam bulbs, now that its getting such kacky weather, and my new route home from work involves more country lanes.

Has anyone tried the Philips Vision Plus for the Main(Dipped) beam ??? I have read the autoexpress opinion, but was wondering if the bulb could make much difference with the Leon's reflector lens..

Also the freebies on the site are W5W for the sidelights... does anyone kow if this matches the Seat 501 sidelight part ??

i have them on my cordy and to be honest, i tested them against the standard and a 100w halogen bulb, all were exactly the same!!! wouldnt recommend them, if they are free they would do as spares but i wouldnt shred my wrist ever again just to fit them for no reason!!

Tadger,

I bought some Phillips Power VisionPlus bulbs for my Alhambra in Calais for £13 the pair and they were a marked improvement on the originals and the "White Light" bulbs I bought in Halfords, but I don't think that they would be of any improvement on the Leon.

As for the Blue freebies, your guess is as good as mine!

I had them in H7 size in my Passat TDI, very good + slightly longer beam... Much better than that blue crap...

I also used Osram Xenon H1.... again brighter than stock....

Not that more expensive than standard anyway....
