View Full Version : "Service Required" Indicator?

My 2001 Leon 20VT (Import, UK Spec (Ha ha)) is telling me a service is required in 1700 miles when I switch the ignititon on. That would make it around 9300 miles.

IIRC, UK Cars don't have the "variable service interval" feature activated. Do I just ignore this and take it in at 10,000 miles?

Do UK cars tell you when they require a service?

I had oil and filter done at 6000 miles anyway, so I am not too fussed, but any ideas?

My Service Required light came on at telling me mine was due for about 9.5k or thereabouts. Short of the 10k I had been told. Is this just so that you don't leave it too late??

My service interval came up at less than 10k miles as well. I decided that as I had to have it serviced I had it done when indicated, but it also suited me work wise.

I must admit mine came up about 9700 miles.

http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/confused.gif mine came up after only 5000 miles which was rather strange.

The dealership had to reset it http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/tongue.gif

If you dealer had set it correctly at PDI it should come on at about 9,000 miles and count down until service is due.

The official line is that you get 1 month or 1000 miles either side of the service interval to maintain your warranty.

Thanks for the comments - looks like I'll just leave it until 10,000 miles then.

Probably get the Forge DV at the same time...
