Id say as soon as possible. I think its 4 years or 60,000 miles or which ever is sooner. You have to take into account the belt with degrade as time goes by. Ive just bought my first LCR with 61k and its an 03 plate, not had the cambelt done yet but its booked in for Tuesday. 275 including water pump.
From someone that has had a cambelt snap its not something you want to put off believe me!
I also think I read some where that after the first cambelt changed is should then be changed every 30k after that.

Why does my manual say every 110,000?

VAG group changed there minds for some reason
they now say 4yrs 40k
it use to be 120k on petrol
and 60k or 80k engine dependant on diesel
no time variant
i must admit i check from 40k and advice the condition to customer

I don't have the manual to hand but 120 sound right, I knew it said something like that.
Mine was changed first time round at 72 when the water pump broke. It's now on 155,000 guess I've been lucky so far! I was thinking of having it done for peace of mind anyway.
Can't be too many out there with 155,000 on the clock
Cheers

I just got mine done, 2000 LC 1.8 20vT (only had the car 4months)
47,000miles on the clock and no evidence of it being done before.
Local garage looked it up, every 4yrs or 60,000 miles
I wasnt gona risk it tbh;)
