Gents,
Apologies if this is in the wrong bit, but it was the closest I could think of.

I recently have changed jobs which means I have gone from doing 200-ish miles a week to over 1000 miles a week. I sense a need for something to preserve my licence :D
Having read various reviews I narrowed my search down to three "safety area" detectors. These are:

Snooper S6-R Neo
Pros: Does GPS, Laser, Radar and SPECS Cons: Big unit, no lifetime subscription

Road Angel + Laser
Pros: Does GPS and Laser. Lifetime subscription Cons: No radar, Big unit

Micro Road Pilot
Pros: Tiny unit, GPS can do radar (extra 300 notes) Cons: No laser, no lifetime subscription

The question I have is, what are your experiences of the above units and do you have any recommendations.

Andy

Thanks Rob. The advantages of owning a Leon mean you go into the Leon forum.

Cheers,
Andy

:roflmao: at your mental notes!!!! I'm sure you are allowed in the Leon forum even if you don't have one!!!!!

Slightly off topic, but I think I may have spotted you a few weeks ago, I was working in Hull and stayed in the hotel by the Kingswood retail park, it was defo a yello mk3 beezer, but maybe there are more than 1 around in Hull!!!

Probably wouldn't have been me as I live the otherside of town and I drive a mk4 :) Mines got a "go faster, adds 10bhp" sticker of a Jordan Honda F1 car on the rear screen. So if you see us about give us a yell

To be fair though, there seems to be a rather large population of yellow beefas in Hull at the minute, both mk3 and 4s. Mmmmm, must rethink my colour stategy in future....

Second thoughts, who cares I am moving to Aberdeen soon and I've only seen three yellow cars up there so far, one beefa, one z3 and one mg-zrstuv thing :D

Not wanting to hijack my own thread or anything (I am still interested in your views on shortlist) but there are some fantastic driving roads up in Scotland. Guess what I do on the nights now it is lighter   :D

Cheers,
Andy

ps there is a fantastic cruise scene in Aberdeen so I have been told, especially during the summer. Will look forward to getting a couple of nights down the front just to see what it is like. There maybe one in Hull, but I have no idea about it

Didn't really see much of Hull during the day due to work, then again I didn't or don't remember much of the evening either, something to do with Vodka and Irn Bru that seems all the rage up there! :drunk:

:roflmao: Vodka with anything I think :drunk:

If you are up again in Hull try a place called *****ys. It is on George Street. They do triple shots for a quid. Tis nasty stuff mind so don't go there if you are after a decent drink. If you like your "real ales" then try the "Old Black Boy". They have guest beers every week.

Having narrowed my search down looks like it is between the Micro RoadPilot (although it has no Laser and Radar) or the Origin B2 (yes I know a couple of you guys have it and would like to kick it into touch but it meets the criteria).

Cheers,
Andy
ps I don't drink :-o (can't stand the taste) so I only know what I have been told. Does mean that I am always good for a lift after a few pints though ;)

Hi Andy,

We tried real ales in the old town pubs, then ended up in a place called Retro, sticky floor 'n' all!!! Was good anyway, will give you a shout if I'm up again, we have a few customers in Hull....

I've not mentioned in this post, but I've had no probs with my Snooper S6, main features I liked was the built in modem, I can download wherever I am (Handy with all the travelling I do), plus mine came with a custom Brodit mount for a Leon included with the kit to fit it on the dash centre vents. The B2 wasn't around when i got this, I must admit I like the look of the B2.

I know it's a hard decision and very confusing , best of luck!
Rob.
