I was wanting to change the colour of my dash by spraying it, then when the photos of the FR came out I noticed that Seat had done it themselves. I like the look and want to do it myself, but how on earth would I go about removing the dash without destroying it? Ive no idea how to do anything like this, but I do want to do it. Halfords sell interior spray paint, does anyone know if this is any good? does it rub off easily? etc etc
Dash spraying? :S
SEAT wouldn't spray it as such, they'd probably change some colours in the manufacturing process so that it is a different colour.

Sounds like a recipe for disaster to me!
Not only would I worry about peeling/flaking paint looking shite, but the Mk4 dash rattles at the best of times - would hate to think how bad it would be once you'd ripped it all out and refitted it !!
The upper part of the dash is available in two colours - black and grey. Grey is available on Stella (AFAIK) and Signo models and black on Sport.

Now the grey seems to be also on FR and Cupra.

Can we buy that stuff here, and would it be the right way around? What I mean is that surely they drive on the other side in Spain!! Or maybe I can buy the grey dash from the FR now its released here.........

I think you'll be surprised at how cheap and easy that mod is! Its just the standard calipers painted red. You can't use any old paint as the calipers get very hot when you are braking hard. So you go to Halfords or whatever (thats where i got mine) and pay them 20 bucks for caliper paint. If I remember rightly the company is called Foliatec. The kit comes with caliper cleaner, paint and hardener. You will need a small paintbrush too, very small!! One word of warning though, make sure that you don't need to use the car for a minimum of 24 hours, cos it takes ages to dry. If you take your time you can get great results. It makes the car look much sportier without the massive cost of Brembos or whatever. Oh and it doesnt look tacky as you might think, the paint is very ggod quality and once dry it actually looks like red plastic, its really high gloss!!
