And guess what's happening to them here:

Terrible looking place but they paint plastic parts for this company: http://www.jonasson.fi
(Gotta admit it was a big surprise to me.)

I dont know if you know but all mine's been done!

Look for the low topic in the MK4 forum to see what it looked like one day.

Oh yeah, I saw the thread. Looked great otherwise but maybe it was a bit too slammed... ;) The rear was okay, though.

My strips aren't going to be sanded down, so the pattern stays. The painter said it would've been much more expensive when sanded down, because then he would've had to use some additional primer. He also said that then the paint coat would've gotten so thick that the risk of peeling grows. He said that it should stay on just fine with the pattern too.

BTW, love your avatar! On my last trip to London I somehow remembered the saying "Suits you, sir!" but I couldn't remember the name of the show. Also, my local friend and her friends had no idea of what I was talking about, so I had to text my friend in Finland and ask him what the show was called. :D

The one on the left looks like me according to Jason because my hair sticks out when I wear my hat!

I hope your strips don't peel. The lower valances weren't sanded down when sprayed and now the rear one is peeling. It's getting totally smoothed and resprayed soon.

Yeah, I really hope, too... Should probably be a bit careful with the high pressure washer...

Let me guess, the paint started to peel off your valence behind the wheels, no?

Its actually peeling in the gap where where the lower valance and bumper join, the main bit is in the centre, below the number plate recess.

I've had a quote to get it done properly, I'll get it done after the GTI International car show, which is the 2nd weekend of May.

I picked up the strips today and they look professionally done, despite the place looks far from that.

I'll put them on over the weekend and take some scenic pics for you guys. :D

Okay, 1.5 hours of work, I'm high of the petrol and the glue of the left rear strip is finally off. Ended up using an ICE SCRAPER cause it wasn't coming off otherwise! Really, it's not as bad tool as it sounds when you're careful and use a lot of petrol to make the glue moist. :D
