Hi, I got my new Ibiza Ecomotive 4 months ago and has been great so far, but.....
In the first month or so, I pressed the brakes but the pedal seemed to get stuck, luckily I broke in plenty of time and didn't cause any problems. As it is my first car I put it down to breaking it in (no pun intended).

It happened again yesterday, I was braking up to lights when the brakes stopped working, the pedal felt loose like when the ABS kicks in (no dash lights came on). I tried keeping full pressure and letting completely off before reapplying but still nothing. Luckily I was just rolling round a roundabout so could stop at the light with the handbrake.

Has anyone had this happen?
Where do I stand with a replacement/refund etc??

Off to the dealer tomorrow so thought I'd see if I could get any ammo to go along with

Thanks for any advice or thoughts,
Dre

its a new car, so its warrantied.

something like:

You must give them opportunity to repair the car.
If they find the fault and repair it then alls good.
If they dont, or dont after reasonable opportunity then you can request a replacement.

But whatever you do dont hold off contacting them.

Out of curiousity have you taken a look at the pedal? a presume its not something silly like carpet getting in the way.

Thanks. Should a courtesy car be provided FOC because it's under warranty? Do I have to take it back to purchasing dealer?

Nope, it's free and clear to move

You can take your car to any Seat dealer for warranty work, It doesn't have to be the supplying dealer.

Since the car is dangerous, just call SEAT Assist & get them to recover it & then it's a lot easier to get a hire car from them, rather than taking it to the dealer

Hey dre87 my car has done exactly the same thing now a few times thankfully only at slow speeds, left it into seat and the only thing they can find is the servo pipes are kinked in a couple of places, the pipes are on back order so just waiting on them comming in, what did they find with yours mate as i dont know yet weather this will cure mine or not.

+ 1 on what Mork says. Don't drive the car, call Seat Assist! They should also sort you out with a loan car...

Lol never noticed.....DUH! Thats what happens when someone revives an ancient thread and old duffers like me dont pay attention. Lol Though having said this, the person that revived the thread shouldn't drive his car with dodgy servo hoses... Well I wouldn't... :)

I left the car in last week and they said the hoses should be arriving in about 5 days so the hoses should be in after xmas, wont be using the car anyway, good excuse to have a few jars and let someone else do the driving lol.

Nope, your answer was in response to the op regarding the courtesy car ;)

Fair play to you, I definitely wouldn't be driving the car with flaky brakes either :)
