View Full Version : Playing MP3's using standard equip?
Does anyone know if or how you can play MP3's but keep standard equipment in the car (HU & multichanger). Is there a device available that will for example plug into the multichanger if the disc magazine is removed?? I can't replace the HU as it's a Seat Satnav system factory fitted....
I've had a quick search of the forum and most people are replacing HU's???

i would say from a player direct into the aux input socket on front liek the aura
but from memory dont think it had one ??
either that or possibly an FM modulator ?
have you tried MP3 on cd in it yet ?
No I don't think my unit has a front aux input. I have burnt MP3's to CD using Nero and they play fine in the player, but I'm fed up of burning endless CD's and getting bored of them....
How would an FM modulator work?

You could always get one of these http://tinyurl.com/2byv4 along with the FM modulator and you wouldn't have to burn CD's at all [B)]
Fm modulator is basically added in line to the aerial and you tune to a certain frequency that then will reproduce the signal fed to it
not the best quality sound mind
how can you get bored with a cd full of mp3 ??
say average 5mb per song/700mb disc= 140 tunes ????
Think he meant that he burns the mp3's cd in audio format, i.e 20 tracks per CD. There is no way the std kit will read mp3 files on a cd.
I used a mstation on a FM modulator which worked but as previously mentioned the sound quality is not brill. However you could prob fool the headunit into using the cd changer input as a aux in if you have one. I know you can do this with kenwood headunits via a converter cable as this is what I did before.
If your not too fussed about sound quality (its about the same as your FM radio will sound) then get a mstation with a FM modulator. Maplins had an offer on not so long ago for £170. Basic but works. I have one sat in garage at the mo.
