Hi guys, Have searched and searched and trawled through countless posts on which is the best headunit to get and install posts, but I can't find the post that is said to contain a guide on removing the original headunit!
Can somebody please point me to this thread and also, could a mod sticky the thread as surely it deserves to be stickied to avoid these posts etc....

Hey biscuitboy
its really easy.
Remove the facia around the radio, get something behind it and it will pop off.
Be brave and dont worry, your not going to brake it!
Then you will see four screws. undo them and it will simpally pull out!
If you are going to get a new head unit for it, it will be worth getting a double din head unit!

Yes i was thinking about getting a double din think 10 " fit flush or 7" fit with a surround.....just waiting for the money now
O/T but is that a Citrus Bocanegra you have? Never seen one in that colour before!

No mate, Its an FR with Bocanegra front bumper and black roof etc :)
On topic, I bought an ISO adapter off ebay, Item number: 160661624322 to fit my Pioneer Double din...
because as far as I could tell this was the same lead as people were selling in the kits for the mark 5... (PC2-75-4)
However the screen / power doesnt go off on the Headunit when the key is out... Manual for stereo mentions accessory position on ignition, if there isnt one then the red accessory cable needs connecting to the ignition cable??? but There are no free wires on the Ibiza loom.....
Any help would be appreciated guys as I am a noob :)

There isn't a live ignition wire you can get to in the radio. Run the red ignition wire and connect it to the ignition from the 12V cigaret lighter.
If you up the surround of the gear stick and cup holders you will be able to get straight to it.
Put your hands in the drinks holders and pop out the facia nearest the engine. And the rest should pop out.
