View Full Version : Ibiza Mk4 Alarm
Guys, i'm having problems with my alram on my car. Every time i lock my car the alarm goes off. I'm going to take into the nearest SEAT garage to get it checked but they aren't open till Tuesday, in the mean time how do i turn it off when it goes off, with the Key Fob. At the moment i just press the lock and unlock button until it stops.
I have no idea what i'm doing. Especially when it goes off in the middle of the night after a night out, i'm sure my neighbours are well impressed.
I think you can press the lock button twice on the remote to turn the alarm off...this is certainly the case on Leons & MK4 Golfs.
It sounds as though your key is out of sync with the car.
does it go off straight away or some random time later? Mine kept going off at randome times (usually in the middle of the night!) and turned out to be a faulty switch on the boot. Pressing the key fob twice had no effect, I had to disable the alarm by removing the fuse until I could get to the dealers.
It usually went off stright away when i locked the car. I've been having all kinds of electrical problems with my car, firstly with the alarm, then when i put my foot on the brakes all my interior lights come on and my dash lights up, and then when i driving at high speed the door mechanisms keep going off. I know the doors are supposed to lock after about 5mph.
sounds like something isnt plugged in properly

If you just lock the car with the key, doesn't that lock it without arming the alarm ?
Also, I think there's a switch to disable the interior movement sensor - you could try that in case it's the interior sensor that's triggering.
Yeah when i lock my car it goes off. It went into the garage yesterday to have it fixed, SEAT assured me it was ok. Well let me just say that my alarm went off this morning at 05:30 and i couldn't turn it off for 20 minutes. I'm sure the neighbours thought i was a right fool screaming at my car at this time of the morning in my boxers.
