LOL
Are you suggesting that sales figures might be a little low for it on release ?
It certainly isn't getting that much publicity at the moment, any it's had hasn't been overwhelming - i think part of the problem is how it was presented last year, all funky styling and inovative ideas included, but now its on the production line its been watered down too much ?
What do you think ?

I'm using it as a gauge as to what the next Leon will look like, and as I have mine on PCP which finishes in about 2 1/2 years, they should have the next Leon Cupra by then, I'd like to see some of the touches carried over from the Altea, mainly interior.

Nail on the head Leo.
AndyB did an excellent "show vs production" styling analysis which showed gross compromises in a number of areas that were very neat on the showcar. Real shame.
In saying that, this simply isn't a car "genre" that does much for me personally. I have 2 young kids, so need a bit of space, storage, boot room etc, but I can't see myself EVER compromising and going for an unecessarily high Centre Of Gravity mini-MPV type vehicle.
If this is SEATs new direction then I'm unlikely to be a future purchaser.
:thumbd:
Well currently my car demands are being met easily... Full MPV (Bammer) for when the tribe goes out, all 6 of Us.. & my leon - okay its nearly 4 yrs old now Yickes...... (Nah ant changing her yet......)

My company car is due to be replaced September next year, so this time next year I will certainly be looking around at this.
Despite being watered down from the prototype, I still think it looks quite cool - certainly a bit different to other offerings.
I didn't think the centre of gravity on it was that high - isn't the roof something like only 4 inches higher than the Leon?
Stevo
I will probably look at one when/if they bring out a cupra version. The salesman that i spoke to said SEAT had to. I'm looking at changing in another 12 months, probably need something bigger than a Leon. Only problem is that looking at the spec, it aint that big. Look at the boot, all of the other mini-mpv's are bigger.

Yes I've just ordered a red TDi sport to replace my 2000 ibiza TDi. With 2 children and another on the way the ibiza just isnt big enough. The Altea looks good, just hope it lives up to the hype. If anyone can tell me how much its going to cost it would be greatly appreciated. I belive it should cost slightly less than the golf mk5 on which its based.

The Altea is based on the Touran, so should be a bit lower priced than that.
The fact it is to compete with the Touran is probably why the styling was (as expected) dumbed down as the Touran has the most boring styling ever (even by conservative VW standards).
They seem to rate the driving dynamics of the Touran okay though so there's hope yet.

Yes should get delivery just after June 1st.
My Audi A3 shares the same chassis as the Altea and it is the best FWD car I have ever driven, I would expect the Altea to use similar damper and spring rates, the steering does feel a bit light at lower speeds but enables very nimble progress especially around roundabouts!!
VAG really has done a good job Altea Cupra should be a hoot with the 200Bhp FSi Turbo
