been looking on ebay and found an eletric supercharger that clames to add 1psi to any normaly aspreated engine. would that make a lot of difference?

A 2litre engine (4-stroke) takes two full cylinders of air every engine revolution. That's a litre of air for every revolution.

At 6000rpm it's therefore sucking in 6000 litres of air per minute, which is 100 litres of air per second!

Show me a fan powered from your car battery that can provide that. :rolleyes:

And that is to allow ensure it doesn't restrict the flow that your induction requires - if you want to boost by 1psi at this speed, it needs to be flowing approx 107 litres per second.

thought as much. thinking of making my own using a model aircraft jet (high powered fan in ducting) should be able to get a bit more then 1psi and sound hilarious .
i'll have to expreiment. dont think it'l have that sort of airflow though.

Ah, reminds me of the time we re-routed the ducting from the heater fan from the dashboard vents onto the top of the carb on my mate's MG Metro... Those were the days...

Could blast itself off the floor from its airflow & thrust..
