After a day to the sea side with mates and a vicious attack by sea gulls i decided i would clean the old man's car last night...

Looked good unitll i dried it and where one of the bird /*#@'s had been the paint has lost its shine the to paint raised up above the level of the un effected paint.

The car isn't even 9 months old yet and too be perfectly honest not very impressed with this result as the bird shit was only on the car for maximum of 2 hours.

Can this be claimed back for a respray on that section on the warrenty. I keep phoning my dad's garage but i keep getting put on hold then cut off.

Its on the rear panel(fuel Cap one) and is on the panel mention, the fuel cap and the drivers side passenger door.

cheers

I would not hold much hope that this would be covered under warranty, as it is know that the stuff is corrosive.

Keep trying the dealer, they may be helpful, you never know

My advice would be not to mention bird lime or anything like that, just say the paint has bubbled and take it to them, say its not good enough on a car this age.

If you mention a cause, your more likely to have it refused, let them come up with the answers.

I got through to the dealers in the bodyshop monday at 11:30 at SEAT's Teignmouth Garage.

Told them ove got a blemish in the back drives side panel, passenger door and fuel cap.

Trouble being it looks just like a bird slpat so i don't think ill get away with that, and the panel runs all the way aover the top of the doors, down under the doors.

2 hours and my dad has a car that looks like some ones polished it with meth's.

Any more penny pinching you want to admit to SEAT while im on the subject.

Will keep you all posted. let me know if any one has any other info.

Just noticeds a bubble forming on passenger door and the paint hasn't broken but its starting to rust.WTF

Was speaking to a friend that had the same trouble with bird shit on his leon.

He says he know of 2 or three people that have had this proble with the platinum paint.

He polished it with a proffessional buffer, then seat accused him of making it worse, hes a bodyshop manager by trade so he was taken back by that comment, but compained and after threatening to take it else where got it done after he was told there was a 4 month wating list for the bodyshop.

shocked at the rust though, the car is cleaned every weeks at least and hosed down every day between October and the end of January.

I use gold class shampoo the wax every time and quick detailer in between.

Hope there is a good result at the end of the line for this otherwise then can wait for the payment(like the age of the car,9 months)

Any one else had trouble with paint??

Car went into the garage today, was dreading the result.

15 minutes later and a friendly chat and coffee with the body work engineer and is being done for free under warrenty.

The removal of the bird (s.h.i.t) took the laquier off and raise the base coat.

So thing to do with the space of time between the application of the two coat at the factory.

Anyways all sorted, thumbs up to county garage teignmouth.
