Pete, all this talk of boot builds is getting me in the mood to get my stuff fitted, but im looking for a bit of advice in fitting it.

Ive got a set of Dynaudio front components, but I dont think the speakers are a standard size. I think that they are 5.5" and not 5.25". Is there a speaker ring or something that I can get so that they will fit straight into my cupra?

Cheers for any help m8.

Dynaudio eh? Very nice speakers them.. Yes they are odd sizes they make but fitting them in your new cupra is much easier than you'd think.

You need a mounting plate whatever speakers you choose, now if you were putting 17cm jobs in you can buy some for Autoleads I think. With your speakers you just need to make a mounting plate out of MDF.. Which if you can use a jigsaw is easy. And they would sound better than if you'd used some plastic ones..

What I'd do is remove the fronts, use them as a template to make some mounts and then jobs a good 'un..

One word of advice though. When you've made the mdf trim, paint it with a couple of coats of spray paint or something to seal it, then water can't get in...
