Got my ibiza yesterday as a cheap runaround, guy had removed thermostat as was overheating, but he was told water pump may be causing it, now since i bought it i noticed gauge was all over the place which made me suspect the sensor, also the expansion tank was cracked, so today i have replaced sensor and expansion tank and refitted new thermostat, now the coolant in expansion tank is just boiling over and it doesnt seem as thought the thermostat is operating as heaters inside car are blowing cold air and the fans dont cut in at all, hottest i let it go before shuttin it off was 100 degrees but i do get a strange sound coming from waterpump area but could all this be solely down to the pump??
