just wondering if anyone can help me with a problem on my ibiza, its an 09 plate 1.6 dsg sport.
about 6 weeks ago it wouldnt start (it was turning over but wouldnt go) and several fault/warning lights came on(the epc light, the emission fault light (although i now realise these two stay on till the engine actually starts), the tyre pressure light and the esp/traction control light), everyday for 4 days i tried to get it to start and each time it refused to oblige me.
eventually on the thursday i booked it into the seat dealership where i got it from and on the friday when i went to take it, it started for but died after idling for about 5 minutes, i restarted it without any problems and drove it about 20 miles to the dealership without incident.
they did a fault check on it and the ecu said there wasnt any faults on it nor had any been saved on it. they did however say that other people had had similar problems with the same model and that they had removed the fuel pump relay and reattached it and that it could have been that which was making it not start.
i havent had a problem with it up until about a week ago when i stayed at a friends house one night and it struggled to start again the next morning but i managed to get it going got half a mile down the road and it died on me, i got it going again and got home ok, i have used it all week without any problem whatsoever but then this afternoon i went to go out in it and it wouldnt start again and the same lights as before stayed on again.
if anyone has any idea what can be causing this problem i would be grateful for their input, it will also help me point the mechanics at the dealership in the direction of the problem.
