View Full Version : Debadging
Hmm, wanted to remove the badges of the boot of my cordy today and had a bit of trouble.
I managed to get the "SX" badge off using a hair dryer but it took 20 mins remove it and all the crap it left behind.
I've just started to remove the "Cordoba" badge but its being a git and leaving loads of sticky crap behind. (Not even got 1/2 across the "C" yet) :)
Anyone got any tips?
Bill? Brend? Scott? Dave? Anyone?

Alex gave me a good tip, get a piece of cotton thread and "saw" your way across the back of the badge.
It leaves a bit of glue, but this comes off with a bit of patience and some fingernails, then wipe it clean and bang some t-cut over it and ur laughin
Go down to your local DIY shop and get some Evostick Adhesive remover. It will clear up any trace of glue left over with very little effort.
Nice one lads, cheers.
Pitty its started pissing it down now! :(

I used white spirits and all the goo came off a treat, oh and a credit card as a scraper...

Oh and stop playing with the badges and reply to my e-mail.... :D :D :D

Ive used adhesive remover on both of my SEATs and its never done any harm to the paintwork. It is a very strong solvent that is specifically designed to remove glue.
have any of you guys had any exoerience smoothing the Seat boot badge/handle
Nope but I will be doing it shortly ;)
Si
I know someone who has.
it's OK - but the main problem is actually opening the boot - it's not got a natural ledge to hold onto.
