I fitted a set of 312mm Brakes from an Octavia today to a friends Fabia, the same mod can be done using Leon Cupra/Audi TT/S3 etc brakes on the MK4 Ibiza as long as it doesnt have the FS III calipers.

Did a quick How 2, find the post here

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/showthread.php?t=9660

Thought it may be usefull, very good economy upgrade.

IIRC all of the 130 ibizas come with the FS III caliper. Worth checking though.

They might not be ATE calipers but they deffo dont come with FS III calipers. They have the same calipers as the Fabia vRS, which is a seperate upright and carrier.

They look like that, seperate caliper with a 13mm bolt top and bottom.

My old 1400 had FS III calipers, were 256mm if I remember rightly.

The ones on my 130 are not marked FS III so I assume these are the ones I can get rid of :)

FSIII are fitted to several different disc sizes.

Check in behind your wheel to ensure that the calliper carriers bolt on like this:-

If they do - they are changeable.

Some cars have the carriers as part of the hub casting (including my f*cking Leon! :( ) so you can't upgrade without changing the hub too! Which is why I'm just in the process of selling a set of 312mm discs, pads n carriers to someone.....

Just to note, I've now had the 312mm conversion done on mine and it is a great improvement, for little money.

I now have a lot more feel, and the brakes are a lot sharper...confidence is restored in my car!

Thanks Ross :)

Going back to brake conversion's, The brembo Gt kit is available for several Vw and Audi cars. Ive noticed a people have them on the Vrs Fabia's but which car were they originally meant for?

The GT will fit pretty much any car with the right hub and carrier... they were put on the mk3 ibiza cupraR and leon cupra R as standard equipment.

cpufreak has got a set on his ibiza tdi130 too.

£695 + carriage, not bad! That's a bit cheaper.

just a quick note if you didnt know already.. you need minimum 17" wheels for these to fit... even then they will only fit behind some of them. :)

I stuck a 16" wheel on the front of mine to see if the calipers clear...

Good news, they do!

Attached is a pic :)

I did mine yesterday just bedding them in at the moment but seem better from first impressions.
