I take it i should b asking u as u seem to b the club ice guru! mind you anyone with Knowledge would be gratefully appreciated.

I'm after a power cap or two, or either an uprated alternater( dont know if the caps will make any differance?).

Im currently running a Denon DC800 into a set of 6.5 components up front, a Alpine MRV-T707 monoblocked into a
12" KickercompVR sub. There are also a pair of Infinity 6X9's running of the Denon but only just as im' looking to get rid of them.

The other thing to bear in mind is i'm looking to change the front speakers to a set of JL VR's, have them running of the Alpine and the a Vibe VP4 Digital power amp to run 2 kickers!

also there will either be a PG Bass cube or the Caliber version in there.

The trouble is on the existing setup when the basslines kick in "Blackout" steps in- well thats a little harsh- the lights dim with the beet ( Partytime ).
Wot sort of caps would you suggest and wot make if any?

Any other suggestions would be of an advantage.

Cheers

paul

most ice manufacturers now produce various size caps
the general rule of thumb is this

for every 1000 watts your AMP OR AMPS are producing you
should have at least one farad of capacitance

if you take the time to work out what amps you will be eventuallly
running then work out this formula

find out what load you are presenting to each amplifier
ie what impedance are the speakers connected to the amp

for instance if you have 2 four ohm subs connected to your monoblock in parrellell your maplifier will see a 2 ohm load
usually the smaller the impedance the more power an amplifier
makes

now simply work out all the bits and pieces in your system
and total them up if its around 100-1000 watts you need a one farad cap if you are using more power then you will need more
some of the more expensive ones come from manufacturers
such as brax or alumapro but there are a lot of different ones on the market

No more to add to that except a comment on the original post....

Get the PG Bass cube, they're fantasic and better than the Caliber on (IMO).

Oh and it helps if you get the installers maual as well which shows you how to tweek the innards even more...;) ;)
