I am a first time buyer and am currently looking at a 54 plate 37k mile cupra r 225.

Wheels need refurbing and a couple of dents are present but is in sound condition and looks very well looked after indeed, 1 lady owner and was a part exchange at a main bmw dealer.

The 1 issue i have is service completed at 12k

BUT no service stamp or paper work at 24k and 36k, MOT states that car has done 8k in last 3 years.

The garage i am looking at buying from will service the 36k which is 1k late and obviously it's not been serviced every year.

I would get cam belt done straight away and there is also a 3 month £1000 per claim per day limit warranty

Please share your views and what you think as i am unsure what to do as not had any experience with seats, i have always been an alfa GTA owner in the past.

Help most welcome

Cheers

I'd be wary that it's never been serviced since. I certainly wouldn't be paying for the belt to be changed - I'd make that part of the deal.

If it's been that static, I'd be all over the car checking for perishing of hoses etc - do not expect the dealer to do this (nor expect a totally honest MOT....)

cambelts & tensioners overdue, so as M0rks mentioned should be part of the deal,

check exhaust condition and CV boots, trailing arm bushes, as it seems its spent a lot of its life sat around,

make sure the aircon works too :)

if possible check the inside condition of the front brake disks, they could be well pitted

barring that it could be a little Gem
