i dont know why my previous post disappeared so this is it again

Hi, i have a seat leon mk1 1.6, 16v
when i start it when it's cold it sounds like a diesel for a couple of seconds and there's a rattle coming from the engine (somewhere at the bottom of it). i noticed that the the engine cover which i presume is the air box is moving up and down from the back and i dont know how that was supposed to be fitted onto the engine but it is still fitted tight at the front.
also when i drive it the car jerks and slows down as if i was taking my foot off the accelerator and back on, especially when im on the motorway at 70mph (3.4k-3.7k rpm) and the engine management light is constantly on.
if im right about the air filter (engine cover) how do i secure it back on the throttle body as it doesnt have any obvious clips or screws or anything like that.

Thank you!

This image is to show how the cover comes up
