could well be fella...both my rears are worn like a ***** tooth - (done around 30K on them! :D and still have 3-4mm of tread though) which is what i reckon is causing the sound I can hear (have had both rear bearings replaced recently so cant be them!)
ive also noticed that my rear wheels are towing in a bit, compared to my mates...do you think maybe that mgt be causing it????

Not sure if you managed to fix it but what car do you have? I know that the Leon FR TDi 170 has poor tyre wear causing a humming noise at the rear of the car (made a lot louder with the rear seats down).

I've got a humming on my MK 2 PD 140, just had eibach sportlines put on the car and taken it to Spain, but I can definitely tell its coming from the nearside rear. Can hear it from 45mph up to 60ish! Pretty sure it's the bearing
What's the cost roughly?
Cheers
