View Full Version : Importing a new LEON
Hi guys
After a lot of searching came across this excellent site and straight away went at the top of my favourites folder.
I am trying to import a new Leon 1.820VT Cupra UK spec (as soon as I 've settled on one company) and would like any help from anyone who has done this before. I have come accross some websites which are saying that new Cupras don't have cromed exhaust or that they don't have rear headphones sockets but other websites don't have any probs.
Any help would be appreciated from good importing companies to specifications on the car.
Thanks in advance

the new 2002 model has a different exhaust system, which gives a better sound from engine, the headphone sockets dont know, so the websites offering the cromed exhaust will be 2001 model, and other will be 2002 model.

Cheers dave I'll look out for that.

Another couple of questions that I was wondering about if anybody can help.
First off as ESP is now an option on the new model Leon is it switchable or is it permanently on? and does it replace TCS or EDS(whatever this is).
Also what is this radio display on the dash i keep noticing that is missing as well.
PS
As I am looking to order through an import company does anyone now if any of the newer models of the leon coming to UK especially the 150TDi. Oh and finally does anyone know if you can buy the bodykit for the Cupra4 in the UK as well as the honey combe grills.

FULL cupra 4 Kit IS available and 1 is in stock ,although the side skirts look like they'll be a job to fit , grille is honeycomb exactly the same style as the ibiza
one lucky so'n'so is soon to be the proud owner of the front end assy ,BE WARNED factory stock is limited and it has taken us almost 2 months to acquire the whole kit , if you want a list of the part numbers etc , pop in to your dealer or i can mail em to ya if your local dealer scowls at ya http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/rolleyes.gif
ps watch this space VERY SOON http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/tongue.gif for pics IF i can
pps radio display is no longer http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/frown.gif
plus the headphone sockets are now not fitted , but a kit can be made and fitted to rectify that little problem http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/biggrin.gif
wander around , there are posts about all the recent spec changes etc

Cheers flapper and once again dave for the info.
Flapper can you mail me the parts and if possible the prices on the kit @ ankjos@hotmail.com. As I am about to put in a new order for the imports real soon (as soon as I have the right company) I can wait for the kit as I believe the import can take up to 5 months, so I can order the kit around the same time. I take it that I have to pay extra to have the kit coloured (my import colour will be Bronze met) and do you know if I can have the side rubber moulding painted to Bronze as well so it will look almost excatly like cupra4.
Cheers http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/smile.gif
