Excellent mate - how much difference can you notice!?
Interesting point.... On the Leon - Its like okay you've booted me have some ... On the Alhambra, its more of a gentlemans reaction, just constant.. However, if you want to just push in say 4th gear... You can feel the torque just at your feet :)
My feeling is that town work it wont be noticed much, unless the Misses gives it some, then she will feel the extra torque! But out and about motorway driving I think it will pull much better up inclines, not that it was poor before... But after all with 6 up any extra torque, is most welcome.. Will take a while to see if there is any impact on the fuel, but will keep an eye on it..
I will be doing the ERG mod later (Once I have my Vag-com cable back), so with the K & N already fitted, that will be my lot on the Bammer, appart from the Springs..... Unless Janspeed wish to fit a new S.S. exhuast system to it! (Hmmm)
u mean EGR stu ;)
Doh! I keep getting them round the wrong way!!
Question would this be noticed at service time???? - I will remove the wee black box just prior...
K&N will stay put..... until next year when I will just buy another one... Its cheaper to buy one of these every second year than an OEM one .... (Yeah I could clean it.. But honestly I think I will just get a new one...)
do u mean will they notice the EGR mod? then only if they look at that entry in the ECU, and note the different figure, which they really wont do, and anyway just play dumb and say u dont know what EGR even is or summin.
If u remove the tuning box as well then it will be totoally stealth, they will never know.

Regarding the EGR mod, you could just do what I did (see my recent thread) and shove something up the vacuum pipe to block it off. No need for VAG-COM, and not visible in the engine bay.
It also completely stops the EGR, I think VAG COM can only turn it down.
Well I contacted :mobile: my insurance this morning re the tuning box... As I'm a member of the caraving club, my insuarance is through them  (Yeah I know.... - But we Dont have the caravan anymore... )
So my line of approach was that I wished to increase the torque a tad, thus adding to the car's up hill pulling power, and explained that I wasnt interested in speed (Having 4 kids was enough responsibility  ) .... Answered a few question's - How much will the BHP increase... 25% was given making the alhambra 138BHP, what cost is the box etc - That will cost you £55 sir - Bargin me say's
Then I thought I'll ask about the leon, well better to be safe... Snap £50 - Both split over the year, less than £5 each per month...... :roflmao:
Deal Me say's - & I'M Safe in the knowledge that both insurance's now have 'tuning boxes' added to the policy....
Guess its better in the long run... Was worried that I'd get sorry that will cost you £***.** or even worse sorry dont cover modifed car's.

Guess its better in the long run...
Couldn't agree more. It's not worth running the risk of your insurance being void when they find some undeclared tuning mods.
I've declared the chip on mine, and also the fact I do about 30,000 miles/yr.
When I had to have a previous car repaired (some twat cut me up and nudged me into a barrier at 80mph - got him done for dangerous driving though), the last thing the insurance assessor looked at was the actual damage.
First he looked under the bonnet, then at the stereo gear, then at the brakes, etc etc... he knew what to look for !
She let me drive it last night, Bluming Hell - I have been driving this baby Ibiza for too long..........
:-o Put me foot down a tad to much, from a set of lights last night  1st gear spin, engaged 2nd gear still spinning, feck 3rd gear, phew engages drive, & were off... Kids loved it  Leon Cupra guy behind pulled up at next round about smiling!!
Think he will think twice about my Bammer next time.....
Now whats next
