View Full Version : Which uprated brakes for my LCR225?

I have a 55 plate LCR225 which is now in need of new disks and pads all round.
The standard brakes are pretty good but I'm considering uprating them as the cost doesn't appear to be too much more. However, in my research I'm finding mixed reviews and recommendations so I'm not sure what to go with if I don't do a straight brembo replacement.
I've read that the Black Diamond brakes e-parts stock are pretty good but also have had suggestions of getting Neuspeed disks and yellow stuff pads. And of course there's always uprated brembo stuff to consider.

The next consideration is whether I want grooves, drilled, combi or none of the above. I've heard that these can increase wear on the pads creating lots of dust.

I'd really appreciate any recommendations including whether uprated brakes are completely unneccessary. Suggestions? Brand/model info would be really helpful so I can google it and order online.

Everything on the car so far remains as standard but I am looking to start making small improvements in performance with things like the air filter, sparkplugs, and perhaps a performance exhaust.
Any recommendations as to what kit to get with reasonable costs other than an ECU tweak? Again, brand/model info would be really helpful.

Cheers!
