Cable length

My pc is in the middle of my house.................what is the maximum cable length I could use bearing in mind voltage drop etc and could a signal booster be used.I want to purchase VAG COM but don't want the expense of a lap top.........
I need about a 10 m cable
Can it be done? :confused: :confused:

never had any problems with a 15m cable - but that wasnt on vag com though
