Would a 6 speed gearbox fit in a Ibiza Cupra ( R ) 20vt ?
If so where can I get it done ?

P.S : Discovered very quickly that it seems that my R is restricted to 140 , Can laugh at my mate in a S3 up to there and then the Ibiza wont rev passed 5600 RPM @ 140 MPH.
Can this be resolved ?
Yes, apparently the 6 speed gearbox from the Leon is a straight swap. Or, you goto Quaife and get a custom ratio ox with a proper LSD, but that costs a couple of grand!

I dont think your cura R is restricted as my dealer said he has had just below 140 on a normal 20VT ibiza and on the type R had an indicated 145 down the motorway.
I was probly just the drag caused by the car as i believe it can seem like it just hits a brick wall due to the aerodynamics (spelling??)
As for the gearbox, I would have thought buying a good LSD for the car would be better walue than fitting a 6 speed box?? but it would be nice to see!

Cheers lads however the 6 speed would be the mod for me , if any body can get a price it would be much appricated , would a dealership be any to do it or is there no chance of retaining my warenty ?

If your after a 6 speed box i would say you should try and find a written off leon as I wouldnt see you getting much change from about £1500 for a new box.
As for fitting if it is a straight swap then it should be maybe 3 hours labour or so plus new clutch etc then you would have a spare gbox you could always sell on. No idea how your warranty would be affected though, but i would say any transmission items, would no longer be covered. Though i think lots of things depend on your dealer.
If you get it done id be interested in seeing what sort of times the car manages compaired to a standard gearbox.

The bulk head will get in the way on an Ibiza for the Leon Transmission
Quaife do some nice kit... I can't think of another way round it though.
