Saw a thread in this forum about interior mods, in which many recommended the interior chrome vent/gear surrounds as a cheap option. Having seen them fitted to a showroom Ibiza, I decided to enquire about having them retrofitted to my car. The parts were priced as on the website - about £30 for the two sets. Having read nightmare stories about people who'd wrecked their dashboard trying to fit them, I decided that professional fitting would be wise. However, the £99 "fitted" quote from Willoughby Seat Nottingham somewhat numbed my desire for the added "bling"! Ringing around other dealers didn't seem to bring much joy either, with £86 being the cheapest I could find.
Is it me, or is a £60-odd fitting charge for a relatively 'minor' job a bit of a joke?
Those of you who've had the chrome kit retro-fitted, how did you go about it? Do you think it's a job a local garage could competently complete, or is it best left to the real experts? I'm not the most technically gifted, so I wouldn't to start hacking about my dash. If there's no other option, then I suppose I'll have to swallow my pride and cough up the cash, but I'm reluctant to do so. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers!
