Ahh fair play, did you take them off or paint them whilst they were on?

Are you planning on doing this with the calipers fitted to the car or are you going to remove them?
The basic rules of painting apply:
Surface prep: You need to really clean the caliper thoroughly, remove all dirt, brake dust, grit, oil, grease etc that may be on the surface to be painted. Best to use some sort of solvent to really deeply clean/degrease the caliper. If you can use lint free gloves while handling the calipers, this will prevent the greasy finger prints getting on them and help improve the paint bond and appearance.
Masking: Fully mask off all the areas you don't want the paint on. I'd remove the pads too as you don't want them painted. Make sure any exposed threads are protected.
Paint: Apply a thin coat of primer, allow to dry. Apply paint as evenly as you can until you get full coverage of the area to be painted. Allow to dry. Depending on the paint type you are using and the appearance you may want to do a 2nd coat. Make sure you use the gloves while handling the painted caliper, surface contamination with finger prints will reduce the paint adherence of subsequent coats.
When it's all done and dry remove the masking and fit back to the car.

I should really do them off but that takes so much. Apparently you have to drain the break fluid and disassemble the breaks to get them off fully
